May Book Club Wrap Up + Author Interview

Hello book lovers!9781925972597-scaled

For our May Book Club we read and discussed The Dictionary of Lost Words by Pip Williams.
Everyone thoroughly enjoyed this one, and I personally loved it. It was brilliant and well written the entire way through and the story completely captured my attention.
This novel will stay with me for a long time and I highly recommend reading it if you haven’t.

There was so much packed into this one book and it gave us great material to discuss.
Once again we held book club via Zoom and it was lovely to catch up with everyone again.

Hopefully we will be able to go back to in person meet ups soon but for now we think it is still safest to host them online.

I was lucky enough to be able to interview Pip Williams and ask a few questions about The Dictionary of Lost Words. Continue reading

January Book Club Wrap Up + Author Interview

Hello book lovers!
It has been a little while since we have posted , the Christmas season is always a busy time of year!
Book club has still been running once a month and in case you missed it our last two books for 2019 were: The Sea & Us by Catherine de Saint Phalle and The Bee and the Orange Tree by Melissa Ashley.

Well-behaved Women

Both books were pretty much unanimously liked by everyone and we had a great time discussing them.
Our first book for 2020 was Well-behaved Women by Emily Paull.

This one was hard to judge as it is a collection of short stories and people loved some of the stories but weren’t as fussed on others. There were definitely quite a few in there that I personally loved and one thing everyone agreed on was that they got better and better as the book went on. Continue reading

Hello fellow book lovers!
I am excited to be bringing you another book club wrap up and author interview. I know it comes right after the September one I posted last night but I wanted to get this out to you all before we meet on Saturday.

Last month the Cosy Reading Book Club met on the 12th of October to once again discuss their book of the month. The book for October was The Breeding Season by Amanda Niehaus. The Breeding Season.jpeg

This was a very intense and emotional book which definitely made us think and even sometimes made you uncomfortable in the way that confronting art often does.
